Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between the HR Director and internal/external stakeholders.
Manage the HR Director’s calendar, meetings, travel, communications, and confidential correspondence.
Coordinate high-level meetings, agendas, presentations, and reports with minimal direction.
Draft, proofread, and manage sensitive HR documents, memoranda, and correspondence with accuracy and discretion.
Conduct research and compile data for special projects and presentations.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all personnel and sensitive departmental matters.
Support departmental HR functions including budget tracking, personnel transactions, and policy updates.
Assist in tracking and supporting departmental initiatives, strategic planning, and performance goals.
Act as a resource for internal departments, elected officials, and external agencies regarding HR processes and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Director.
Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Management or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in executive-level administrative support, preferably in a government or public-sector setting.
3 years experience in human resources or knowledge of HR policies and procedures highly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with HRIS or document management systems.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines under pressure.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
Prior experience supporting an HR Director, City/County Administrator, or comparable executive-level official in a public agency.
Familiarity with local government structures, personnel policies, and labor relations.

The Gwinnett County Human Resources Department is seeking a highly professional and experienced Confidential Executive Assistant to provide advanced administrative and strategic support to the Human Resources Director. This is a pivotal, confidential role requiring discretion, initiative, and a deep understanding of human resources functions and public sector operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a high degree of professionalism, and experience supporting executive-level leadership in a government or public-sector environment.

The grade for this position is 103. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
