      Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Configuration & Data Management Specialist on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

      Responsibilities

      The Configuration & Data Management Specialist will:
      • Support a highly skilled team of Configuration and Data Management Specialists directly contributing to NASA Human Space Flight Programs.
      • Provide Configuration Management support including but not limited to:
        • Participate in the establishment and implementation of Configuration Management (CM) process controls for generation, transmittal, receipt, distribution, and storage of Program documentation.
        • Coordinate across multiple contracts, teams, and organizations to facilitate the movement of baseline changes through applicable boards and panels, ensuring accurate and reliable data is captured from change initiation through implementation and closure.
          • Track, control, and release configuration managed products while ensuring established data quality and standards are met prior to release.
          • Maintain and validate data within the Change Request (CR) process, and track status of CRs until implemented.
          • Review and provide evaluation of cost, schedule, and technical impacts to Program Changes.
          • Ensure all documents are current, distribution is timely, changes to a configuration baseline are properly identified, recorded, evaluated, approved, incorporated, and released.
        • Perform Configuration Management Receipt Desk (CMRD) coordination to receive, track, and distribute Program Change Requests for appropriate and timely processing and release of Program data.
        • Perform Board Secretariat functions at Program Boards and meetings.
          • Develop meeting minutes including formal actions along with details for decisional items with final decision and coordinate to publish.
          • Coordinate review of minutes, publish minutes and maintain current versions.
          • Document and track formal board actions and work with actionees to maintain status of all action items through completion and closure.
          • Guide board chairs in CM processes, efficiently shepherd Directives through the CR system.
          • Provide Change Paper status at Program Board meetings.
      • Understand restricted data requirements for the Program to ensure proprietary and sensitive data are marked and appropriately controlled.
      • Actively participate in team projects.
      • Perform other duties as required.


      Qualifications

      Required Education/Experience/Skills:
      • Bachelor's degree in the field of specialization from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of specialized experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, & Outlook); PC Laptop computers.
      • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
      • Experience in a customer focused role with demonstrated ability to articulate and patiently instruct others (peers, managers, teammates, and customers) in detailed technical processes.
      • Strong organization, attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills.
      • Demonstrated experience prioritizing multiple tasks with tight deadlines while coordinating with an internal and external network of affiliated/impacted contractors and civil servants.
      • Demonstrated ability to coherently compose and respond to email communication; creation and editing of instruction documents when needed.
      • Strong problem-solving skills.

      Preferences:
      • Experience in Configuration Management (concepts and principles).
      • NASA human spaceflight experience.
      • Knowledge of wiki spaces.
      • Experience with leading a project or event, or experience with self-starting or self-leading (in professional career) is a plus.
      • CMPIC Master's Certification in Enterprise Configuration Management and/or NDIA Certified Configuration & Data Manager (CCDM).

      Essential Requirements
      • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

      • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
      • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
      • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
      • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
      • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
      • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
