      Another Source’s client, Habitat for Humanity, is recruiting an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in Seattle, WA (Renton).

      Position is internally titled Contstruction Accountant

      The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $56k – $79k DOE.

      Summary:

      Reporting to the Construction Accounting Supervisor, the Construction Accountant supports the Accounting and Construction Departments, relating to construction financing. Responsibilities include tracking Habitat Construction budgets, auditing construction related expenses, preparing various reports relating to construction activities, and assisting with submitting and tracking grant draw and bank loan requests.

      What you will be doing:

      • Maintain project budgets and actual costs in the accounting software, including the record of all project finances for audit and tax purposes.
      • Audit purchasing and subcontracting activities on projects and advise the Construction Accounting Supervisor of any discrepancies or potential budgetary challenges.
      • Prepare reports that compare actual costs to budgeted costs for construction and management.
      • Collaborate with New Construction and Repairs in order to maintain the accounting software for their reporting needs: maintain job profiles, enter budgets, change orders and budget modifications and create cost codes when necessary.
      • Reconcile CiP for multiple companies and handle month end reporting related to construction projects.
      • Support the Construction Accounting Supervisor on the Grant and Bank Loan Submission process for New Construction – review invoices for proper coding, prepare documents and assist with submittals and tracking draw requests through receipt of proceeds.
      • Participate in various meetings pertaining to grants and bank loans to stay informed of current requirements or relevant changes.
      • Work with Resource Development and Construction to prepare reports and grant requests as needed.
      • Provide support for the accounting of home sales.
      • Work closely with the Construction Accounting Supervisor to develop policies, procedures, and best practices.
      • Assist with month and year end close and financial reporting.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      What we’d like to see from you:

      • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Related education and experience may be substituted.
      • Minimum 3-5 years accounting and/or finance experience.
      • Experience in a construction operation is preferred.

      Preferred qualifications:

      • Knowledge of construction accounting.
      • Experience with not-for-profit or government accounting.
      • Energetic, self-motivated team player, able to see the big picture and maintain attention to detail.
      • Proven organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while working on diverse projects under pressure.
      • Aware and able to prioritize workload, targeting deadlines within the confines of working with a variety of people in all departments of the organization.
      • Able to communicate effectively and efficiently through verbal and/or written means.
      • Maintains and regards all department information as highly confidential.
      • Flexibility, sense of humor, grace under pressure a must.
