      Job summary

      We are looking for a substantive Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health to join our well established team at Ambrose King Centre, Royal London Hospital and Sylvia Pankhurst Centre at Mile End. We provide the full range of SRH care, including abortion, menopause and FGM care, and work closely with colleagues in GUM, HIV and the Women's Health Hub. We are also an active training centre for all FSRH qualifications. The post holder will need to be able to work independently, including performing surgical abortion up to 14 weeks gestation.

      Main duties of the job

      o The post holder will have a commitment to be available for 10 PAs each week, but LTFT applicants will be considered also. They will work as part of the Consultant body to support delivery of care, and training of the multidisciplinary team. They will work across the whole remit of SRH. This will involve work within the abortion service including performing surgical procedures in clinic and with GA in theatre, as well as menopause, complex contraception and integrated sexual health.

      o The post holder will deliver general integrated sexual health clinics during which supervision and training will be provided to other clinical staff working in the clinic. The post holder will work with our TPD and training co-ordinator to deliver SRH teaching in clinic and elsewhere. There may also be the opportunity to participate in teaching of undergraduate medical students.
