- On the General Medical Council Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining a CCT
- Section 12(2) Approval under Mental Health Act and eligible to act as Responsible Clinician for detained patients or eligible

Job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled, approachable and motivated consultant to join the NLFT CAMHS division to help in managing the care of young people requiring assessment and treatment within Barnet West CAMHS area which is based at Edgware Community Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant to work within a well-functioning and closely knit multidisciplinary team of committed professionals. This is an existing consultant post which has become vacant as the current post holder is taking on additional management responsibilities and is helping to set up the single point of access with the CAMHS division.
Main duties of the job
The person appointed to the post will be encouraged to develop their own interests and pursue research interest in collaboration with the child and adolescent research unit based at University College London CAMHS research unit led by Professor Argyris Stringaris. The consultants will be encouraged to participate in various QI projects across both services and participate in teaching medical students and psychiatry trainees as well. The trust is embarking on an ambitious transformation of services within CAMHS using the THRIVE principles and the candidate would be encouraged to develop and contribute towards these changes in order to deliver an effective and compassionate service to the young people living within Barnet Enfield and Haringey. All new consultants will be provided with mentoring by experienced consultants to help develop in the role as medical leaders. The consultant will be invited to be part of the local Consultant CPD/Peer support group.
