What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide ongoing lab support to customers as a technical expert
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Ciena's optical transport portfolio, offering engineering consulting support
- Engage in advanced technical collaboration conversations focused on software and APIs
- Gather technical requirements and manage the feature request lifecycle
- Support bid responses and deliver technical presentations, demos, and proofs of concept throughout the sales cycle
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 10+ years of proven experience in the telecommunications industry with a focus on solution sales or technical consulting
- Strong background in optical transport systems, including L0/L1 expertise and familiarity with IP & Ethernet technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Good knowledge of Ciena flagship product lines and Routing and Switching portfolio
- Experience with 3rd party platforms such as Arista, Nokia, Cisco, or Juniper
- Sales Engineering and/or product support experience
- Programming skills in Python
- Understanding of Data Center architectures and networking models
