A Department Manager, along with all supervisors, is a Servant Leader who provides clear direction and support, executes merchandising priorities, and selects & develops high-performing team members to exceed customer expectations and maximize revenue. You will use our tools to maximize sales and profitability through merchandising and inventory control, maximizing productivity, achieving your financial goals, and working with our business partners to achieve results that inspire customer loyalty. And so much more……Total of 4 years of experience:
3 YEARS GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience which was gained in administrative, clerical, retail sales or other related work which enabled the applicant to gain knowledge of selling floor operation practices and procedures; skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships; and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for every 9 months of experience. Substitution of 1 year for 1 year in those instances where co-op experience is required of a student as part of the program study.
AND 1 YEAR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Progressive experience which provided background in merchandise controls; inventory stock record keeping and reports; exempt or non-exempt supervisory experience; merchandise display; and retail promotions; or experience in the area of customer relations in an effort to improve sales and maintain operating cost efficiencies.
