What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure patients are appropriately registered for all service lines, including eligibility verification and obtaining pre-certifications or authorizations
- Maintain close working relationships with clinical partners to facilitate open communication and enhance patient experience
- Provide timely coverage of assigned work area to ensure prompt patient service
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, and communicate relevant coverage information to patients
- Minimize duplication of medical records by effectively verifying patient identity
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of experience
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet department needs
- Strong time management skills and accountability for productivity standards
- Effective communication skills to interact with clinical areas and insurance companies
- Willingness to actively participate in departmental meetings and promote positive team dialogue
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- One year of relevant healthcare experience
- Prior collections experience
- One year of customer service experience
- One year of direct Patient Access experience
- Associate's degree
