      Are you passionate about writing and building simple and intuitive experiences for users? BMO’s award-winning payment platform, Online Banking for Business, has an exciting opportunity for a Content Designer to join its Content Strategy team.

      The ideal candidate understands this job is more than just words. It’s about creating user-friendly experiences that help our business clients effortlessly complete their banking tasks. This includes but is not limited to writing in a variety of different formats (e.g., micro copy, communications, conversational design, etc.) across multiple channels, such as desktop and, mobile.

      The successful candidate will work closely with a talented group of creatives, content managers and developers. This role is based in Toronto and reports to the Head, Digital Product Marketing & Content Strategy.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Partner with customer experience and user research to understand our clients needs when it comes to context and instructions.
      • Write clear, concise, accurate micro copy (error messages, onscreen instructions, etc.) for desktop and mobile app. Duties also include content creation for product pages, interactive walkthroughs, self-help instructions, chatbot journeys, and other related support material.
      • Ensure all content and user journeys are consistent with brand tone of voice, quality and style across all devices.
      • Proofread and edit all material to confirm accuracy, clarity and conformity to layout and design.
      • Work with UI designers to align copy with design.
      • Drive the creative process by playing an active role in brainstorming, ideation and collaboration.
      • Establish, adhere and manage editorial governance across all content for the online and mobile channels.
      • Partner closely with different teams to assist with other copy needs and messaging opportunities (product pages, emails etc.).

      Skills

      • 5+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Must be able to write copy that’s easy to understand, accurate and concise.
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects and juggle competing deadlines.
      • Impeccable knowledge of grammar (spelling, punctuation, usage).
      • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex content.
      • Must be able to able to work cross collaboratively and gather information from various stakeholders.
      • Must be able to present information in an organized and understandable format.
      • Ability to innovate and improve current processes.
      • Experience editing and proofreading copy.
      • Must be flexible and willing to take feedback.
      • Must understand user centered design principles and how copy impacts the customer journey.
      • Ability to work independently, and take initiative and not be afraid to ask questions.
      • Bilingualism is not mandatory but is an asset.
