      JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

      Penn State Beaver, in collaboration with Penn State Shenango’s Continuing Education Department, is seeking Part-Time IT and Cybersecurity Instructors to teach in the following program areas:

      • CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+)

      • CompTIA Network+

      • CompTIA Security+


      The instructor will be responsible for planning and delivering effective instruction aligned with CompTIA certification objectives. Courses will be delivered live via Zoom in a synchronous, remote format. Additional responsibilities include:

      • Preparing and organizing course materials

      • Teaching scheduled sessions live via Zoom

      • Evaluating student progress and providing timely feedback

      • Submitting required documentation and reports accurately and on time

      Work Schedule:
      Courses will be delivered live via Zoom during the following time blocks in the 2025-2056 academic year:

      • Monday–Thursday, 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM

      • Monday–Thursday, 1:50 PM – 2:50 PM

      Candidates must be available during at least one of these designated timeframes.

      Qualifications:

      • A Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (or active candidacy for a terminal degree)

      • Current CompTIA certifications in ITF+, Network+, and Security+

      • Experience teaching or training in a virtual learning environment

      • Strong communication, technology, and online classroom management skills

      BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

      This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

      CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS

      Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
