What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage a contract portfolio, including the review and negotiation of various agreements such as clinical research and federal contracts
- Advise faculty and staff on contractual issues that may impact negotiations
- Review and interpret contract and agency guidelines to safeguard university interests
- Maintain electronic records and ensure data integrity within the contract tracking system
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes and interpret contract-related policies for faculty and staff
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in contract negotiation or research administration
- Strong judgment and analytical skills to handle complex problems
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under deadline pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 2 years of experience in research administration or contract negotiation
- Skills in diplomacy, drafting agreements, and managing employee relationships
- Experience with policies and procedures related to contract negotiations
- Strong self-awareness and stress management abilities
- Proven ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively
