      Overview:

The Daily Grace Co. is seeking contract writers to develop Christ-centered children’s picture books and/or board books. We are looking for writers who can communicate biblical truth with warmth, imagination, and clarity for young readers and their families. Topics are open-ended—writers may pitch any gospel-rooted concept, theme, or storyline suitable for young children.

The ideal candidate understands early childhood development, can present theology in an age-appropriate way, and writes with creativity, simplicity, and doctrinal faithfulness. We are especially interested in writers who can tell engaging stories that point children to who God is, what He has done, and how His Word shapes everyday life.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree preferred (education, theology, Bible, English, creative writing, or related fields)
      • Strong grasp of biblical theology and how all of Scripture points to Jesus
      • Ability to communicate theological concepts simply and engagingly for children
      • Understanding of child development and age-appropriate storytelling
      • Creative, imaginative writing voice suitable for picture books or board books
      • Excellent written communication skills
      • Organized, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines
      • Comfortable with collaborative feedback and revisions

      Scope of Work:

      • Develop biblically faithful, age-appropriate story concepts for picture books or board books
      • Research, outline, and write a manuscript suitable for children (length varies based on category: typically 150–800 words)
      • Integrate Scripture, theological clarity, and child-friendly storytelling
      • Collaborate with the illustrator and editorial team throughout development and revision
      • Ensure theological alignment with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal commitments

      Commitment:
      Contract, per-project basis

      Compensation:
      Determined per project

      Additional Information:

Contractors are engaged based on the needs of specific projects and are not guaranteed ongoing or full-time work. Participation in meetings or collaborative sessions may be requested depending on project type and timeline.
