      Overview:

      At The Daily Grace Co., we are committed to serving families who long to disciple their children in everyday life. Many parents want to lead meaningful family devotions—but feel overwhelmed, underprepared, or unsure where to begin. They are looking for resources that are theologically rich and realistic for busy homes.


      We are seeking contract writers who can help meet those needs. If you are passionate about equipping families for faithful, everyday discipleship, we invite you to submit a complete proposal.



      Scope of Work:

      • Create biblically faithful themes, structures, and concepts for family devotionals
      • Research, outline, and write a full devotional manuscript (length varies by project)
      • Integrate Scripture, devotional teaching, discussion prompts, and practical application
      • Write in a way that serves a broad range of ages while maintaining theological clarity
      • Collaborate with the editorial team throughout development and revisions
      • Ensure theological alignment with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal commitments

      Commitment: Contract, per-project basis

      Compensation: Determined per project

      Additional Information:

      Contractors are engaged based on the needs of specific projects and are not guaranteed ongoing or full-time work. Participation in meetings or collaborative sessions may be requested depending on project type and timeline.

      Proposal Requirements

      Important: Proposals that do not include all required components listed below will not be reviewed.


      Please include the following in a single document:


      1. Title and Subtitle



      2. Controlling Idea (1–2 sentences) Clearly and concisely articulate the central thesis or driving idea of the devotional.



      3. One-Paragraph Summary
      Provide a concise overview of the devotional’s purpose, structure, and tone.



      4. Target Audience Description (One of the Most Important Sections)

        • Include a paragraph describing:
          • Who this devotional is specifically for
          • What stage of life they are in
          • What spiritual needs, frustrations, or desires they are experiencing
          • Why this devotional matters to them
          • Tip: Specificity is essential. Broad audiences (e.g., “Christian families”) are not sufficient.



      5. Comparable Titles (2–3 from the Past 5 Years) Identify 2–3 comparable devotionals published within the last five years and explain:




        6. Author Bio Explain what uniquely qualifies you to write this devotional, including:

          • Education
          • Ministry or teaching experience
          • Subject-matter expertise
          • Experience working with your identified audience



        7. Devotional Outline Provide a working title, Scripture reference, and main point for each devotional entry. It should be clear how each entry supports the controlling idea and relates to the target audience.

        8. At Least Five Complete Sample Devotions Submit at least five fully written devotional entries representative of the final manuscript.

        9. Front and Back Matter (Optional) Describe any supplemental materials (e.g., introduction, family discussion guides, liturgies, prayers, reading plans, etc.).

        10. Timeline and Specifications Include:

        • Current manuscript status (idea stage, in progress, complete, etc.)
        • Estimated total word count
        • Anticipated manuscript delivery date

        What We’re Looking For In Proposals

        • Theological clarity and biblical faithfulness
        • Strong understanding of the target family
        • Developmentally appropriate tone and structure
        • Clear, compelling writing
        • A concept that fills a genuine need in today’s Christian home

        We are especially interested in devotionals that do more than inform—they lead families to love Jesus more deeply.
