Design and configure technically complex building control systems as defined by the contract documents. Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.
Coordinate and create necessary drawings for submittal approval and installation.
Develops and tests software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements.
Mentor local branch System Designers and Engineers to strengthen their skill levels.
Follow established QA/QC processes to ensure the quality of the Hardware and Software Design meets the contract document requirements.
Participate in project turnover meetings to verify the requirements of the task and communicate task progress and issues with the project team
Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum 4-years’ experience in the HVAC controls construction industry.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Building Automation construction industry.
Demonstrated understanding of complex HVAC systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e. BacNet, etc.)
Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools
Position: Experienced New Construction Controls Systems Engineer
Team: Johnson Controls Central Engineering SupportAs an integral member of the Johnson Controls Central Engineering Support Team, the Experienced New Construction Controls Systems Engineer will provide technical expertise and support to local JCI branches by executing various project tasks. These responsibilities include submittal design, controller programming, graphics development, and database configuration, ensuring seamless integration with new construction projects.
A strong emphasis is placed on mentorship and quality control, with a commitment to fostering best practices and technical excellence across engineering teams. Additionally, this role may require on-site engagement to troubleshoot control programs, collaborate with commissioning agents, and facilitate successful system integrations.
This position is remote; however, some travel may be required, but no more than 10%.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $82,000-$102,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
