      Department: Culinary / Food & Beverage
      Reports To: Executive Chef / Sous Chef
      Classification: Full-Time | Union Position

      Job Summary:

      As a Cook 2 at Hyatt Centric Chicago O’Hare, you will support kitchen operations by preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards. This mid-level culinary position requires basic food preparation knowledge, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and consistency in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen. This is a union position and all responsibilities are performed in line with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes and instructions.
      • Assist with setup and breakdown of assigned kitchen station.
      • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and labeling.
      • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen tools and equipment.
      • Support senior cooks and kitchen leadership with prep work and service needs.
      • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
      • Perform additional duties as assigned by chefs or supervisors.

      Qualifications:

      • 1+ year of previous kitchen experience preferred.
      • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking methods.
      • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
      • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
      • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
      • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
      • Union membership required upon hire, per CBA.
