      ROLE SUMMARY:

      The Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of food at the Chef’s discretion. The cook is limited in scope of responsibility when compared to the kitchen operation as a whole. The cook may operate one or a select few pieces of kitchen cooking equipment (Flat Top, Grill, Saute, Salads, and Pantry), and largely focuses on prepping items to be cooked. They p repare food items according to the recipes. They m aintain a clean and sanitary work area. The Cook is a fast-paced position that’s essential for the kitchen to operate at the desired level.

      JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry and vegetables using a variety of kitchen equipment and techniques.
      • Know and comply consistently with portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
      • Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service for our guests.
      • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station.
      • Collaborate with other kitchen staff and management to maintain effective product flow.
      • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
      • Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
      • Opens and closes the kitchen stations properly, assists others and following checklists.
      • Understands and follows proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures.

      JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

      • High school diploma or equivalent required.

      • 2+ years prior restaurant kitchen experience (preferred).
