What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide support to teachers serving students in Extended Content classrooms through observations, model-teaching, and hands-on involvement
- Collaborate with teachers in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Compile data, write reports, and make recommendations regarding student observational data
- Assist with educational planning for students transitioning from high school, including job site setup and IEP/Transition meetings
- Provide Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training to teachers and staff in regional program classrooms

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in special education or a directly related field
- Five years of experience in special education or a related field
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations and school laws related to special education services
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
- Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in an Exceptional Children's teaching area

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's degree in special education or a directly related field
- Previous certification or eligibility for certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
