MDH/Kent County Health Department, A.F. Whitsitt Center/Supported Employment Program, Chestertown, Maryland
Main Purpose of Job
This position will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of an evidence-based Supported Employment (SE) Program. This program will support individuals who do not qualify for Public Behavioral Health System SE services, and have a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder. This program will also support individuals who have an opioid and/or stimulant misuse disorder, including cocaine and methamphetamine. Additionally, this position will provide services and support to interested and eligible individuals who are discharged from an inpatient residential substance use treatment program, in order to help them obtain and maintain competitive employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience:One year of administrative staff or professional work experience in a health care setting. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience. 2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a Commissioned Officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work, on a year-for-year basis, for the required experience and education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should have experience working with individuals who have been diagnosed with a substance use and/or stimulant misuse disorder. The desired candidate should also have experience providing vocational support, including resume writing support; leading and/or establishing a rapid job search for competitive permanent employment positions; and, job development and placement.
