Edit digital and print math lessons (plus any supplemental materials) to make the language clearer, more concise, and more delightful.
Edit teacher materials for conciseness and clarity.
Review and improve marketing emails and resources.
Collaborate with other copy editors in maintaining our style guide, making improvements when necessary.
Offer wordsmithing support to authors in Slack, Google docs, or on video calls, because conversation is a natural way humans think together.
At least two years of copy editing expertise
Ability to apply established style guidelines consistently
Ability to work with different authors and edit for different audiences
Ability to perform detail-oriented QA reviews
Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style or similar style guide
Impeccable grasp of grammar rules (and when to break them)
Strong sense of how words work and play together
Awareness of how words can cause harm and how to avoid that
Ability to edit writing for conciseness and a conversational, student-friendly tone
Ability to wordsmith (rewrite sentences) to improve tone and narrative while preserving the original meaning written by authors

Job Description Summary:
We’re looking for an experienced and collaborative copy editor with a strong eye for detail and a passion for improving the reading experience using clear, concise, and student-friendly language.
This role is a great fit for you if you enjoy wordsmithing and making language concise, delightful, and easy to understand for both students and teachers.
