Act as the Australian-based Corporate Trust product lead to manage a portfolio of agency & trustee mandates including (but not limited to) the following products: 1) Syndicated Loans, Project Finance, 2) Escrow, Account Bank and Specialized Agency engagements
Support APAC and ASEAN based sales-business developments colleagues on all new deal origination efforts to grow the locally contracted Corporate Trust portfolio.
Develop and cultivate strong relationships with external (non-Deutsche Bank) clients, law firms, Private Credit & Equity firms and investment bankers who can provide a continual flow of new clients or opportunities for the Bank
Formulate and implement procedures and policies for the growth and management of the Australian portfolio of the Corporate Trust business which meet with the bank’s standard on control, risk management, operational efficiency and service quality.
Active participation in the origination, deal structuring (incl. document review) and execution of all Australian Corporate Trust mandates in accordance with agreed procedures and policies together with internal or external legal counsel. The successful candidate is expected to have strong knowledge on structure, administrative mechanics and operational aspects of the role of agents and trustees in the aforementioned products within the Australian market .
Ensure accurate transaction booking on all internal systems from initial transaction setup and ongoing administration. Perform the ‘4 eye’ validation on the transactions principally managed by other support teams (middle office – extended desk and infrastructure) as required including outgoing reports, notices, payment instructions etc in relation to the assigned transactions. Ensure the adherence of internal control procedures in the ongoing administration of such transactions.
Manage all ongoing portfolio management responsibilities linked to assigned transactions, including but not limited to placement of investments, review and preparation of reports, interest and collateral calculation, monitoring of quantitative and qualitative covenants, and maintenance of deal administration files.
Act as key local liaison point for Australian-based issuers/borrowers and noteholders/lenders, with primary ownership of all to deal with waivers, consent solicitations and restructurings/default management with documentation amendments as required.
Work with internal business partners both locally, regionally and globally on projects (incl. but not limited to technology, structure, processes) and new product developments which will have an impact on the local and regional Corporate Trust business.
Where required, to assist with the preparation and validation of management / MIS reports and handling of control / compliance matters in accordance with Bank's and regulatory requirements, whether impact is local or regional.
To act as product SME, providing local Australian support and guidance to regional colleagues as we as “extension of desk” and infrastructure functions supporting the front-office team in managing the portfolio of transactions.
Active engagement in local industry forums and events
University degree in a Finance related discipline.
Minimum 10+ years experience in Banking and Finance (previous exposure to trust/agency, capital markets and/or structured financing products would be highly beneficial).
Strong preference for candidates with past experience with exposure to trust & agency roles covering capital markets and/or loan markets (syndicated lending and/or project finance) & structured financings (and a good understanding of industry/local market standards) would be highly welcomed.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, decision making skills with a good eye for detail and a team player.
Highly organized, efficient, and able to work without always being directed (self-starter).
Able to effectively organize and prioritize workflow while managing the expectations of stakeholders.
Able to explain complex issues in a simple way
