      Corporate Development Specialists play a lead internal consulting role in planning and implementing organizational development and change initiatives necessary to ensure the success of the organization’s business objectives. As expert facilitators, Corporate Development Specialists help make sense of complex business challenges and partner with leadership and teams to boost performance, navigate change and plan for the future.

      The abilities, skills and personality of the incumbent will have considerable influence on the strategic effectiveness of custom organizational development programs. To be successful in this role, you have highly developed interpersonal skills, are situationally adaptable at all times, and can lead often complex and ambiguous projects and programs with a results-drive and action-oriented mindset.

      Your Corporate Development Specialist responsibilities:

      This position works closely with senior management and business units across the organization in the areas of strategic planning, change management, organizational insights, employee engagement, process optimization, and other organizational development functions. Key responsibilities include:

      • Ensuring effective alignment of change and improvement initiatives to the organization’s strategic and tactical business plans.
      • Empowering business unit leaders to articulate and execute their vision and strategic direction. Supports leaders and teams in achieving WCB’s goals and success measures through strategic facilitation services.
      • Informing the development of robust employee engagement programs and associated activities to foster a positive employee experience.
      • Recommending, implementing, and monitoring improvement opportunity strategies to senior and business unit management. Providing change management expertise to units to assist with the same.
      • Guiding clients through business process management conversations and activities.
      • Undertaking, coordinating and analyzing internal and external surveys on behalf of the organization. Presenting employee and customer sentiments to senior leadership to inform decision making and action planning.
      • Identifying improvement opportunities using client surveys, focus groups, research, data analysis, and business and productivity analysis.
      • Providing project management support and facilitation expertise to business units requiring these skills.
      • Enabling cross-functional collaboration and best practice sharing to design and assess options.

      Your experience and skills:

      • A related degree at the undergraduate level is required; a Master’s degree in a related area is desirable. Professional designations such as CHRP or CMC are an asset. Prosci or other change management certification would be an asset.
      • Three to five years’ consulting experience in undertaking significant work process improvements or other change initiatives is required.
      • Knowledge of organizational development fundamentals and design thinking is an asset.
      • Must exercise sound judgment and provide professional advice in the planning and business analysis areas to WCB management and staff.
      • Original and innovative thinking is required. The ability to ‘think out of the box’, to learn quickly, and to think holistically is critical.
      • Strong facilitation skills, a capacity to act in an advisory role as a business partner, and the ability to influence others are essential.
      • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to do presentations to a range of audiences from front-line to senior management.
      • Skills in providing exceptional customer service and working effectively as a team member are essential.
      • The ability to manage and prioritize own workload, meet deadlines and balance competing priorities is required.
      • Strong conceptual and data analytics skills are essential.
      • Experience undertaking work process improvement, work process reengineering and organizational reviews using tools such as work process mapping, analysis, and measurement.
      • Proven track record to equip senior leadership and employees to adopt large scale change effectively.
      • Proficiency in the use of virtual collaboration tools, spreadsheet, word processing, process mapping, and project management software is required. Proficiency in statistical analysis and database software is an asset.

      Salary: Grade 12: $89, 984.00 to $105,848.00 per annum

      The temporary position is for a period of up to one year with the possibility of extension or permanency.
