What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Build and cultivate a pipeline of corporate partners, maintaining strong relationships and managing a portfolio of partners
- Develop a corporate solicitation plan for fundraising events, including a moves management strategy
- Create proposals for partners with sponsorship potential across multiple events and programs
- Maintain accurate relationship records in the donor database and manage sponsorship details
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure sponsorship fulfillment and engage corporate volunteers
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma (or equivalent) required; associate degree in marketing, communications, or nonprofit management preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relationship management experience with a nonprofit, membership, or trade association
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer software
- Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising software preferred
- Strong relationship skills, professionalism, and a commitment to the mission of the organization
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of metro Detroit and Michigan corporations
- Experience in creating and managing corporate membership programs
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple relationships effectively
- Strong enthusiasm and compassion when working with animals and people
- Previous experience in volunteer management or engagement
