What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety road maps and procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with internal road maps and consensus standards
- Provide technical and administrative support to the organization
- Conduct employee training on applicable safety standards
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field
- At least five (5) years of occupational health and safety experience in a heavy manufacturing environment; Metals Industry preferred
- Extensive knowledge of industry applicable consensus standards and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- A board certification (CSP, CIH, ASP, FSE, etc.) is preferred
- Knowledge of Aluminum Molten Metal (DC and/or EMC), Horizontal Hydraulic Extrusion Press Systems, and Combustible Dust
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
