      Overview

      The Safety Fleet Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of Safety within the W.B. Mason company. With the Safety team, they track accidents, personal injuries, US DOT violations. Working with our distribution team and Risk Management, the Safety Manager ensures that we maintain our USDOT / FMCSA Safety profile and other standards by developing and implementing best practices and overseeing regular training. The Safety Manager is also responsible for conducting post-incident investigations in preparation for potential litigation as well as prevention of such incidents in the future.

      Responsibilities

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Lead and manage Safety Compliance for over 1,500 Distribution Employees.
      • Oversee and audit FMCSA compliance
      • Play a lead role in interacting and communicating with FMCSA, OSHA and Food Safety organizations. Be the primary communication channel between WB Mason and these organizations with all compliancy issues, inspections and audits in these areas.
      • Travel as necessary to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and our internal safety program. This will include fleet inspections, warehouse inspections & MHE inspections.
      • Fleet accident and incident investigations including all roadside inspections
      • Support our Risk Management department with transportation and accident claim mitigation.
      • Conduct periodic on-site audits of warehouse and transportation safety programs to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant.
      • Communicate effectively with regulatory agencies as well as internal and external customers as necessary.
      • Develop and present relevant training to employees as needed.
      • Continually monitor changes to state, local and federal regulations. As these regulations change, work with the Distribution team to update training and orientation accordingly.
      • All other duties as assigned.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

      • Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook a must. Experience with Geo Tab and RydeSmart a plus
      • Strong leadership ability, initiative, analytical skills, and creativity.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Excellent problem solving skills, ability to multi task and focus on details
      • Ability to travel as needed

      Qualifications

      Education and/or Experience
