      Description of Essential Functions:


      ELM Utility Services, with over 1,300 employees nationwide, is seeking a Corporate Trainer to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to be a part of one of the largest and most respected companies in the utility locating industry. This person will work under the direction of the VP of Safety & Training. The primary role is to assist with training both locally and while travelling to other ELM territories. This position requires frequent traveling throughout ELM's footprint. Job time is spent in both the classroom and field environment with exposure to all field hazards. Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds is required. Requires up to 5 miles a day walking at least twice a week.

      Duties & Responsibilities:

      Organize, conduct, and assist in training classes for STAR, TEAM, and Customer-specific training both locally and while travelling to other ELM territories.
      Perform quality and safety audits both locally and while travelling to other ELM territories.
      Identify training and auditing needs, development of training and continual improvement plans.
      Assist and develop local trainers, including start-up operations.
      Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
      Project a favorable image of the company to promote its aims and objectives and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all of its areas of endeavor.
      Keep immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative course of action which may be taken.
      Develop individuals for future advancement
      Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

      Qualifications:


      High school diploma or equivalent
      Comprehensive understanding of underground utility locating.
      A minimum of 3 years locating of gas, electric, and communications is preferred.
      Previous training/teaching experience is preferred.
      Must be comfortable in a classroom setting and working in an outdoor setting, walking significant distances each day in all types of weather, and dealing with all manner of field hazards.
      Must be able to manage a group of employees.
      Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work with people, possess a strong sense of safety culture, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
      Self-directed and possess problem-solving abilities.
      Must have a valid driver’s license, pass a pre-employment drug screen, and have an insurable MVR.
