Will lead the development of plans to upskill the wider workforce, including the supply-chain, to ensure we leave a better trained workforce, linked to the utilisation of Humber College, George Brown College and Telfer Business School, and our GO Expansion academy of learning strategy.

Leads the team on the recommendation and initiates change to project delivery plans, identify areas of improvement to put forward to relevant area in business and operating processes.

Interacts with clients and other stakeholders to ensure that objectives are being met.

Leads external relationships important for project delivery (e.g., statutory authorities).

Liaises with the Metrolinx PDT’s from the various sectors, Stations, Early Works, Joint Corridor Early Works, USRC, Extensions, to ensure all works are aligned with the common-goal for the Rail Corridor and over-arching GO Expansion Program.

Act as lead for compliance with project's health, safety, quality and environment processes for projects, sponsor audit of rail corridor, and project documentation, activities, and processes.

Developing and delivering implementation plans; establishing commercially beneficial delivery models and leading on innovation & best practice.

You will have full budgetary oversight and ensure operations are fiscally and ethically viable, and meet organisational and legislative compliance obligations.

The project:
The program is the largest transit infrastructure program in canadian history. The program will transform rail services in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), providing two-way all-day GO train service and improved passenger experience with quieter and faster electric locomotives. It includes early works, off-corridor station and infrastructure upgrades, as well as an on-corridor program to deliver new tracks, platforms, facilities, grade separations and electrification. The MCS team is partnering with partnering with Metrolinx to deliver the GO Expansion program. MCS’ mission is to transform Ontario’s GO Rail Network into a rapid rail system through the delivery of the program and to provide exemplary support to Metrolinx. The MCS program delivery partner (delivery partner) team will achieve this by facilitating Metrolinx’s creation of an outstanding organizational capability for program management and, simultaneously bring our global and local expertise to the direction and successful delivery of the program.Reporting to the east/west corridor delivery head, the corridor lead will lead a team on one, or more, rail corridors on the GO Expansion Program, to ensure the best outcomes for the coordinated team.
The rail corridors are: Lakeshore East, Lakeshore West, Barrie, Union Station Rail Corridor (USRC)/Union Station Enhancement Project (USEP), Kitchener & Milton and Richmond Hill & Stouffville. The corridor lead will take ownership of all projects under their control on their specified rail corridor. They will utilise their previous experience to drive a culture of best practice for health, safety, wellbeing and program delivery across the program. They will be required to proactively engage with the Metrolinx Project Delivery Teams (PDT) and other Metrolinx stakeholders, such as vice presidents, senior sponsors, and functional teams. The corridor lead will need to consider the whole corridor at a program level, and with their expertise develop and implement a program-level strategy. This strategy will oversee individual project delivery (by separate Metrolinx teams) and mitigate any risks to the successful corridor delivery. Key areas include schedule management, stakeholder management, risk management inc. key corridor level issues, interface management, scope/change management.
