      About This Opportunity

      JOB SUMMARY:

      We are seeking a talented attorney to join our highly collaborative legal team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and exceptional contracts attorney to provide internal legal support for the company’s merchandise and private brands departments and establish key partnerships with business leaders within those groups. This attorney will deliver highly proficient and timely legal services related to contract negotiation and drafting and general legal advice to the merchandise and private brand teams.

      KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

      · This position requires strong organizational skills, proven proficiency in contract drafting, active management of outside counsel and a high degree of collaboration with other business groups with the intent to develop practical solutions to business and legal issues.

      · You will provide legal advice on complex business transactions, including contract review, drafting and negotiation, in support of 7-Eleven's merchandise and proprietary products teams.

      · Candidates must work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while providing practical legal advice to business clients.

      · In addition to a strong transactional background, the ideal candidate will have legal experience with retail, fresh food, and/or consumer packaged goods clients.

      · Familiarity with some or all of the following is preferred but not required: franchise relationships, highly regulated retail products, retail promotions and funding, private label products, intellectual property matters, and regulatory requirements for product labeling, marketing and communications.

      · This role will collaborate closely with procurement team members, food/product quality, safety and regulatory team members, and marketing/communication team members on matters impacting the sale of merchandise in 7-Eleven’s 14,000 stores across the U.S. and Canada..

      Preferred Qualifications:

      EDUCATION: JD

      YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 4+ years

      State Bar admission

      SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

      · Exceptional technical drafting skills for RFPs, NDAs, merchandising and supply contracts, development agreements, and similar contracts.

      · Exceptional negotiating capabilities for direct counterparty negotiations.

      · Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills with internal clients and business leaders.

      · A desire and ability to quickly learn 7-Eleven's business and understand customer needs and store operator needs.

      · Experience in consumer package goods and/or retail is a plus.
