What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with departments to build detailed annual and mid-cycle operating and capital budgets
- Analyze revenue forecasts, expenditure plans, and fund balances to ensure accurate budgets
- Draft budget documents and presentations for leadership and the Board of Supervisors
- Lead major budget system administration efforts, including testing and implementation
- Track program and policy performance to ensure alignment with fiscal priorities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Direct experience in public budget development and preparation, including salary projections and multi-year forecasting
- Knowledge of public budgeting and financial management processes in government
- Proficiency in financial reporting, cost accounting, and Excel modeling
- Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive budget documents and reports
- Experience in interpreting complex financial information for diverse audiences

- Familiarity with ERP systems or similar financial software platforms
- Interest in leadership roles within finance or public administration
- Strong communication skills to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations
