      Purpose:

      The Customer Marketing organization in CCA spans disciplines to deliver:

      • World-class shopper understanding and insights

      • Compelling category strategies

      • Support for outstanding customer collaboration

      • Value creating Category development

      • Effective shopper marketing to support conversion at POP

      • Customer-focused planning, activation, and execution

      The CP&A Executive supports the CP&A Manager on the execution of the activation calendar and commercial plan, ensuring its completion within the Cycle Planning and Briefing process and supports evaluation/learning back into the wider business.

      The CP&A Executive supports the CP&A Manager in delivering Field Sales, Account Management and Distributors Teams the tools and support materials to drive brilliant execution within the channel/customers, and in setting channel specific brand and category execution guidelines and standards. The role also tracks and evaluates channel in-store execution against well-defined scorecard metrics, ensuring we deliver on time every time to our customers.

      Market Context:

      The Caribbean and Central America (CCA) is one of Diageo’s most diverse and profitable markets. It is the number 1 market in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) in terms of profitability, both in absolute and margin terms, and close to number 2 in terms of NSV. Globally, we are the second most profitable market for Diageo, after North America.

      Our route to market is achieved through a combination of 12 major Free Trade Zone & Border customers, and approximately 30 key Distributor Partners. We also manage several co-packing partnerships throughout the region, and Panama is home to our innovation technology center and principal warehousing operations.

      The 37 countries that comprise CCA boast a cumulative population of 77 million people who speak a range of languages including English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Creole, Patois, and numerous other native languages. There is a significant and growing emerging middle class (EMC) population across what are relatively young, but broadly stabilizing, democracies.

      Decision Making:

      • Supports analysis to improve ROI of promotional activities and close volume gaps to meet channel business targets, engaging all relevant parties to deliver our business plan.

      • As the coordinator of all in-store executions for the respective channel (owning the store back planning execution approach), recommends changes and interventions to ensure activation plans are achieved On Time in Full in an efficient and effective way.

      • Develop pragmatic solutions that overcome operational barriers at the point of purchase/sale.

      • Supports brand forecast decisions in S&OP cycle.

      Financial Responsibility :

      • Supports CP&A Manager ensuring total A&P and trade investments budgets are met according to plans in conjunction with Finance, Marketing, and Innovation teams.

      • Manages own T&E.

      • Manages 3rd parties (POS Sourcing, BTL Agencies, Logistic providers…) working closely with the CPA Manager, Procurement and Distributor partner to ensure we are optimizing investment and driving out costs.

      • Deep understanding and responsible for Measurement and Evaluation (Pre & Post) to target the right investment and maximize ROI whilst delivering for our consumers, shoppers, and customers.

      Leadership Responsibility :

      • The role does not have direct reports but needs to work closely and be able to influence and build relationships with distributor partners, external agencies, and Diageo internal & external stakeholders.

      • The incumbent support CP&A Manager with the orchestration of the execution commercial & activity plans, tailor the delivery to our customers and give the sales teams the tools to execute it.

      Key Outputs/Deliverables:

      • Supports CP&A Manager in planning and executing the commercial/activity calendar ensuring we have effective promotions and a winning mix of brand & category activity to drive business performance within customers/channel and that all deliverables are OTIF.

      • Supports CP&A Manager on leading a transformational change focused on delivering flawless planning and execution through an effective cycle planning & briefing process.

      • Tracks channel in-store execution compliance of cycle activity plans and promotional plans (Brands and category plans) against well-defined Execution Scorecard metrics (distribution, visibility, share of shelf, Scale…)

      • Tracks A&P and trade spend highlighting its evolution to CP&A Manager and is responsible for preparing activities Pre and Post M&E

      • Coordinates special packs and creates/executes in-store/outlet visibility solutions and support materials to drive brilliant execution in the point of purchase/sale, focusing on channel needs and execution guidelines.

      • Owns and ensures the Commercial Standards – Outlet Execution and Customer Planning implementation.

      • Performs regular trade visits to identify opportunities and provide solutions to drive incremental sales.

      • Generates input for S&OP meetings and co-lead Monthly Performance Review with Distributors (Distributor BPM).

      • Ensures full compliance with CARM and Diageo Code of Conduct and DMC.

      • Performs other related duties as assigned.

      Qualifications and Experience Required

      • Bachelor’s Degree required in Business or related field.

      • English required and Spanish preferred.

      • Minimum 2 years of experience in sales and /or customer marketing /trade marketing areas with specific experience of distributor-based businesses.

      • Understands how the total sales organization operates and how to drive effectiveness.

      • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively internally and externally with good influential and negotiation skills.

      • Ability to work around and within a variety of different market conditions and demographic factors.

      • Strong analytical, presentation and project management skills.

      • This role requires traveling to markets (estimated 30%) and effective usage of virtual communication channels rather than face-to-face meetings with the rest of the CCA organization.
