      Overview

      Do you want to work for largest health care system in Minnesota? M Health Fairview, University of Minnesota Medical Center, West Bank, is now hiring a Central Sterile Process Tech. We support the OR for upcoming surgery cases as well as responding to emergency cases.

      This is a full-time, evening shift position.

      Responsibilities

      We work to d econtaminate and sterilize surgical instruments including preparation.

      Reviews and interprets O.R. Surgery schedule on an ongoing basis to resolve priority of surgical instruments needed.

      • Ensures instruments are available and ready when needed.
      • Completes Sterility Check points on instruments assembled and shipped.
      • Distributes instruments to the accurate surgical case and hospital site.
      • Transports instruments and supplies between processing areas.
      • Maintains OR Sterile Stores and specialty service instrument inventory

      Track instruments using automated surgical tracking program

      • Decontaminates CPC instrumentation and equipment: Prepares and uses solutions per manufacturer’s instruction. Follows CPC written policies and procedures.

      Qualifications

      Minimum Experience

      • No years of experience required if a graduate in a Central Service/Sterile processing or Surgical Tech program. Two years work experience in assembly and sterilization of hospital operating room surgical instruments if not graduate from a program.

      Preferred Experience/Certification

      • Proven ability in sterilization, decontamination and processing of surgical instruments.
      • CRCST certification or ability to acquire in the future
