      About the Team The Customer Experience (Marketing) team works to showcase our brand through the lens of expertise and love. They work to provide a personalized experience for our consumers backed by best-in-class, data-driven marketing capabilities. The Customer Experience team focuses across 4 departments including, Marketing, Creative, Communications, and our Loyalty & CRM team. Everyone brings their own point of view to create a unique experience for the pets and pet parents. About the Location Hybrid Position: This position is based in Phoenix and may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs. VP Creative Responsibilities Provide strategic creative vision with an impressive talent for unravelling complex problems and driving teams to the best, most impactful solution. Quickly analyze data and how the creative work drives sales/traffic as well as be continually goal-oriented. Provide clear direction, review and approve all creative work that is produced by your team as well as stay tightly connected to fellow Creative Directors as you all collaborate to drive the Creative Team vision. Collaborate closely and continuously with VP Creative, fellow Creative Directors as well as business partners in marketing and ecommerce. Demonstrate an incredible design aesthetic and taste level and be able to recruit top talent that demonstrates the same. Manage multiple projects, partners and team members as you drive the ideation, innovation and execution of digital campaigns. Serve as VP Creative proxy in VP’s absence for projects specific to your area. Understand how to manage up and communicate to VP to keep your management looped in. Respect Brand Guidelines and Standards while always pushing for evolution of such, never waiting to be told to evolve, always advancing the work without oversight. Provide quality assurance on creative deliverables and push your team to be self-sufficient, detail-oriented, consistent, strategic and critical thinkers. Clearly articulate the creative vision and lead direction of creative based on business needs and strategy. Build a high-functioning, highly engaged team of rockstars who are always motivated and excited to drive better work. Maintain modern knowledge of the marketplace and competitive landscape the business operates in, in addition to cultural, design, technology and business trends while leading a team to do the same. Drive non-traditional ways of working and push the teams to always be ahead of the game. Possess the desire to build a highly innovative and impressive team that wants to build a revered in house studio of respected talent. Consistently articulate your point of view utilizing visual storytelling to business partners as well as senior executives. Lead and work with full-time team members, freelancers as well as external agencies. Step in to create some of the work when the need arises. Lead by example. Become a subject matter expert as it relates to your craft, the pet industry, the Petsmart customer, digital, business and loyalty program. Oversee the production of business partner needs and collaborate with the other Creative Directors and Ops Team on a regular basis. Required Skills and Experience 10+ years of relevant creative experience with an in-house or agency group. 8+ years of Creative Director experience actively managing and inspiring creative teams. Having retail experience in a creative environment is ideal. Your experience and fit with the team is more important than number of years. Well versed industry-standard creative applications: Figma, XD, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office applications. Some experience in print & production is a plus. Must have an amazing portfolio that shows extreme talent, taste level and strategic thought in typography, layout, animation, use of photography and color, and exceptional creativity across all platforms, most importantly in the digital space. Proven organizational and time-management skills. Meet commitments and demonstrate excellent follow-through. Innate ability to present to others and sell an idea.
