      The Opportunity

      We are seeking a dedicated Creative Product Marketing Lead for the Bank Marketing team.

      This position is a hybrid work type and can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Charlotte, NC; Colorado Springs, CO or Tampa, FL. Hybrid roles help employees gain the best of both worlds – collaborating in-person in the office and working from home when needed to achieve focused results.

      The USAA Bank Marketing team is a growth engine for the bank, with a laser focus on our mission. We passionately market our products (credit cards, deposits, consumer loans, and mortgages) to both our members and prospects and are experts in direct response marketing channels, where we believe in making data driven investment decisions. We understand that the customer decision journey varies for each product and develop product-specific go-to-market plans, marketing strategies, and creatives. Our campaigns reflect our brand personality, our mission to serve those who serve, and our knowledge of bank products.

      The Creative Product Marketing Lead will have expert knowledge of the Deposits space, delivering campaign concepts and creative assets that differentiate USAA products and meet customer needs. Accountable for the on-brief creative deliverables of their line of business, this individual establishes creative direction, facilitates on-time delivery, and ensures all work meets or exceeds quality standards, by inspiring excellence in ideation, execution, and production while fostering productive, collaborative relationships with team members and partners across USAA to ensure the right creative direction and outputs.

      Partner closely with internal and external agency partners, stakeholders, and executive management to identify breakthrough creative concepts, to understand business needs, prioritize work, and identify new capabilities required of the best-in-class creative team. Partner with product and UX leadership to maintain design consistency across the entire company.

      Business acumen, strong analytics, and industry expertise will be critical to success in this role.

      What you'll do:

      • Leads the development and implementation of the creative and marketing communication strategy, campaign ideas, marketing communication plans and the development, creation, and optimization of the campaign assets for products they support.
      • Advance knowledge of business drivers, relevant consumer, customer, and channel trends and insights to lead the marketing communications strategy of each product.
      • Provides input into management on the creative marketing budget and partners with external agencies ensuring that business objectives are achieved efficiently.
      • Explores innovative ways to continuously build product presence through best-in-class creative assets; recommends new trends and positioning opportunities to drive marketing efficiency.
      • Advocates for the future strategy and growth plans for all products in the purview.
      • Participates or may lead the agile marketing process.
      • Leads the process and timeline for delivering integrated marketing plans from business review through activation and optimization. Deep understanding of the Integrated Marketing Communications Plan (IMCP); leads the development of the activation (creative) briefs. Provides input into the development of the Brand Strategic Positioning.
      • Knowledge in product related regulations, and risk and compliance requirements.
      • Keeps USAA brand and our mission to serve the military community at the forefront of our creative marketing assets.
      • Provides coaching and training to team members.
      • Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
      • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
      • Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.

      What you have:

      • Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration or 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
      • 8 years of relevant work experience, including hands-on experience in developing and managing creatives.
      • Extensive experience in collaborating with key partners and stakeholders, influencing decisions, and managing work to achieve strategic goals.
      • Strong business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends.
      • Ability to develop a creative product strategy - ability to develop a look-and-feel for fin serv products.
      • Ability to create test-and-learn agenda, analyze and interpret test data and create new hypotheses through customer and competitor insights.
      • Extensive experience in Product Marketing, including understanding of specific laws and rules that govern fin serv products (TILA, Reg Z, UDAAP, etc.).
      • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to adjust communication style based on the audiences.
      • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and evaluate information.
      • Ability to exercise sound judgment by using information and knowledge to make timely, effective decisions.
      • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
      • Ability to adjust scope or resources as appropriate, mitigating potential risk to projects.

      What sets you apart:

      • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner [optional]
      • 8+ years of large bank experience with consumer deposit products.
      • Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: FFIEC- Retail Payment Systems Handbook, Payment Rules (NACHA, Zelle, etc.), Reg CC, Reg E, Reg DD.

      What we offer:

      Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $95,250 - $182,030.

      Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
