      POSITION PURPOSE

      The Credit Underwriter is responsible for providing critical support in our Credit and Underwriting department by processing credit applications, pulling and reviewing credit reports, creating detailed credit packages for syndication to our 3rd party partners, and providing internal support and strong communication to all departments. This person needs to be able to identify which funding partner best matches the transaction and will manage the presentation of the funding packet to the appropriate funding source. The position requires high-level administrative, communication, and analytical abilities and requires proven customer service in a busy office setting.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

      • Review credit reports and prepare credit submission packets which have been thoroughly vetted and analyzed to meet the approval requirements of our funding partners.
      • High level analyzing of Credit Reports to determine credit factors which could lead to an approval or denial by our funding sources.
      • Work to eliminate denial factors on credit reports and identify documentation needed from our clients which could clear credit stipulations / prefunding conditions, before presenting a transaction to our funding sources.
      • Respond to inquiries regarding the status of a credit application or transaction and deliver clear and positive communication to internal departments (sales and funding).
      • Make decisions on applications submitted through internal and dealer relationships while placing a strong emphasis on response time, attention to details and the quantity of applications processed
      • Exercise sound judgment when reviewing details and potential alerts and/or risks associated with credit reports that may lead to a credit denial.
      • Adhere to company policies and procedures and escalate any matters non-compliant to Credit Management.
      • Logically document all credit decisions in the Salesforce.com database.
      • Follow up with Funding Sources or Account Managers to ensure items needed are received prior to funding.
      • Assist with other administrative duties, including data entry and CRM database management as assigned by the Credit team.

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.

      Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the finance industry

      Experience with Syndication Partnerships, a plus.

      Experience working as a loan processor, credit analyst or working in the finance

      industry to process loan packets is highly desirable.

      Experience in Credit or commercial underwriting a plus.

      Skills/Abilities: Self-starter with ability to proactively manage daily responsibilities for assigned tasks.

      Strong verbal and written skills required.

      Ability to interact with customers, vendors, lenders, and management in a professional manner.

      Positive attitude, ability to work well under pressure, and a high degree of professionalism.

      Must be able to multi-task responsibilities with high attention to detail.

      Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

      Familiar with CRM systems and practices, Salesforce CRM preferred.

      Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery.


      Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally

      (Almost all office jobs.)

      WORKING CONDITIONS

      None: No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).

      MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION


      Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization.

      Able to interpret various instructions.

      Mathematics Ability: Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and

      selling price; and ratio, proportion, and percentage.

      Able to perform very simple algebra.

      Language Ability: Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias.

      Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling,

      and grammar.

      Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct

      pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order using present,

      perfect, and future tenses.
