What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze crime data to identify patterns and trends
- Prepare crime reports, briefings, and alerts
- Assist in case development and respond to FOIA requests
- Act as a liaison to other Police Departments
- Perform general math calculations and statistical analysis
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, computer science, statistics, or GIS preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Crime Analyst in a law enforcement setting
- Strong analytical and evaluation skills
- Ability to read and comprehend police reports
- Excellent writing and editing capabilities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 3-6 years of experience as a Crime Analyst
- Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Advanced computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
