- Consulting and/or presenting information to local, state, and federal criminal personnel and others regarding CJIS systems, issues and developmental programs within the assigned CJIS service area;
- Developing statewide training curriculum for CJIS systems and programs to include mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum;
- Conducting formal regional customer assessments of criminal justice agencies, compiling results of these assessments and proposing modifications, if needed, that will incorporate new or existing customer needs;
- Providing information to the criminal justice community using training, CJIS memorandums, newsletters, regional meetings, Microsoft Teams, and personal or telephone contact;
- Participating in conferences, workshops, committees and similar activities relevant to assigned projects;
- Maintaining knowledge of policies, theories, techniques and methodologies by obtaining appropriate training related to information systems, specific work assignments and management skills, as determined by supervisor; and
- Determining the impact of existing and proposed laws, rules and regulations on existing and developmental programs.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience in criminal justice, business administration, analysis, planning, research, program evaluation, or administrative work; or
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and seven years of experience in criminal justice, business administration, analysis, planning, research, evaluation, or administrative work; or
- Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of seven years.
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.
- Knowledge of FCIC/NCIC systems and how they interact with other information systems;
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
- Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices;
- Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials;
- Ability to conduct fact finding research;
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Field Services Bureau, reporting to the Information Delivery and Training section. This is a full-time position that is responsible for providing management consulting services to improve capabilities and operational procedures accessing and managing criminal justice information for Florida criminal justice agencies in the Central and Southern service areas.
SPECIAL NOTES:
This position will be primarily focused on the Central Service Area which includes the following counties: Brevard, DeSoto, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Manatee, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole and St. Lucie, or the Southern Service Area which includes the following counties: Broward, Charlotte, Collier, Dade, Glades, Hendry, Lee, Martin, Monroe, and Palm Beach. The incumbent in this position must live in one of these 27 counties. This position is required to travel up to 20 percent of the time in and out of the assigned service area.
