What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide crisis intervention by responding to calls on the 988 Lifeline, offering immediate support to individuals in emotional distress
- Conduct assessments of individual safety and risk levels using established protocols
- Utilize de-escalation techniques to help individuals regain control during crises
- Develop safety plans with individuals, identifying coping strategies and resources
- Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions while adhering to privacy regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in crisis intervention or call center environment
- Intermediate level computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays for 24/7 coverage
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and empathetic under stress
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification in crisis intervention or suicide prevention
- Thorough understanding of behavioral and mental health issues
- Experience with community resources and mental health services
- Ability to troubleshoot basic IT issues during text/chat sessions
- Familiarity with quality improvement processes and techniques
