What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to individuals contacting the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline via phone, chat, or SMS
- Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans for callers experiencing emotional distress
- Maintain detailed and thorough documentation of all crisis contacts
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide effective support and referrals
- Adhere to confidentiality policies and crisis management guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of a GED/High School diploma and four (4) years of full-time behavioral health work experience
- Experience in crisis intervention and contact center preferred
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment using multiple software platforms
- Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) credential required within 6 months of hire
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in the behavioral health or substance use fields
- Knowledge of the King County Public Mental Health System
- Previous experience in a crisis intervention role
- Proficiency in utilizing web-based resources for advocacy and support
- Strong ability to manage high-stress situations with empathy and patience
