      In a nutshell

      Through our CRM and loyalty team, we drive value from our customers at all stages of their relationship with us. We focus on ‘Knowing our customers better than anyone else’ in order to drive business growth including sales, profit and share and also drive long term loyalty. We regularly contact our base with engaging, best in class communications personalising the content, channel, offer, and discount to the individual customer needs.

      You will be responsible for growing Sainsbury’s share of wallet and loyalty through the design and delivery of customer centric targeted marketing campaigns.

      What you need to do

      • Understand the strategy and drive the scoping and delivery of the programmes.
      • Scope, test and implement new campaign ideas and mechanics to further improve and refine the programme.
      • Work with all relevant agencies and internal teams to brief, build and execute plans across all channels ensuring all activity is delivered to agreed process, on time, on budget and meets quality standards.
      • Form close working relationships with the Analytics team, so together we understand our customers and their needs to deliver personalised and relevant campaigns. Ensuring the accurate delivery of customer targeting, data selections and analysis
      • Work closely with internal teams within Marketing to ensure all content is aligned with key events in the customer plan
      • Deliver these programmes across multiple channels (primarily direct mail, email, coupon at till) and review how we can evolve our digital approach.
      • Present campaign plans and performance learnings to stakeholders in relevant forums, generating support and understanding around the business
      • Brief and develop best in class creative which resonates with our customers. Aligning with Sainsbury’s brand guidelines and following the required internal approval processes.
      • Track and monitor campaign budgets, and understand key performance metrics to be able to accurately report on performance
      • Support the CRM manager with financial management, working in line with our periodic reporting process.
      • Work with the CRM manager and execs to ensure good ATC and clash management of our activity so we deliver activity which is customer centric.
      • Support the CRM manager on any work in relation to the development of our strategy and adhoc projects as required.

      What you need to know

      • A passion and knowledge of CRM programme design and implementation
      • Experience of end-to-end delivery of direct marketing campaigns from brief to deployment
      • Strong creative and communication skills - understanding proposition development, content strategy, creative development, channel integration and use of brand guidelines
      • Be curious, and continuously appraise and question the value we are adding for the customer, to create best in class customer centric campaigns
      • Confident with data and an understanding of campaign analytics, allowing confident management and challenge of analytics and financials
      • Good stakeholder and agency management skills managing timelines, processes, reviewing fees and performance
      • Strong project management skills and ability to manage several campaigns simultaneously
      • Keen eye for detail to ensure campaigns go out right first time
      • Good influencing and relationship building skills
      • Able to clearly communicate results and learnings in a way that makes complex information easy for all stakeholder to understand and gain buy in

      • Deliver the agreed customer and commercial metrics.
      • Accurate forecasting with costs coming in on budget.
      • Deliver against campaign KPIs: sales, ROI, open rates, redemption rates and points issuance.
      • Demonstrate flawless budget management, taking accountability for spending cost wisely and issuing Nectar points.
      • Campaigns delivered on time and on budget, with flawless QA
      • Strong relationship with all stakeholders with particularly focus on achieving excellent ways of working with the analytics team.
