      Crop Specialist – Cannabis

      GRODAN is seeking a Crop Specialist as a technical advisor to ensure that our products and services are differentiated in the market from competition by delivering user advice and product argumentation centered on the philosophy of Precision Growing, primarily within the market for legal cannabis. The Crop Specialist partners with Account Managers to develop relationships with customers, distributors, grower organizations and other stakeholders, contributing to the financial goals of the Sales team. The territory will primarily be the west coast, with customers based across the U.S and Canada. The ideal candidate will be based in Los Angeles, Denver, or Phoenix.


      What You Will Be Doing

      • Recognize market trends and translate crop technical market wishes/needs into structured and transparent input for marketing activities, projects and field trial initiatives
      • Provide training and presentations to Sales teams (internal) and to local grower groups (external) to ensure that all relevant stakeholders have sufficient knowledge with regard to products, technical aspects and tools
      • Provide technical support to customers answering inquiries and troubleshooting product usage
      • Develop and maintain regional/national network of advisors & suppliers within the horticulture industry
      • Initiate and execute intensive substrate trials to collect data, providing new ideas/argumentations to support Sales
      • Build customer relationships and influence the choice for GRODAN products
      • Provide input to other departments with regard to development of new products/services as a result of customers visits
      • Introduce new products & services and contribute to development of products
      • Implement tactical plans (scope of 1-2 years) , in cooperation with Business Support Manager, which are in line with the goals of the business
      • Identify potential threats, opportunities, and corrective actions
      • Provide marketing communications for target groups or specific customers

      What You Bring

      • Degree in Agriculture or related field with an advanced degree preferred
      • 5-10 years of growing and operational experience
      • Greenhouse cultivation and inhouse systems expertise
      • Prior experience in a technical advisory role
      • Strong presentation skills and prior training experience are essential
      • Ability to travel 50% of the time, with international travel twice a year
      • Attend symposiums and represent GRODAN at tradeshows

      The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000. Your base salary is determined based on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar positions. This position is bonus eligible.
