What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Plan, organize, and evaluate activities for the City's Cultural & Public Art Program
- Develop public participation strategies and maintain relationships with community groups
- Prepare analytical publications, reports, and grant proposals related to public art projects
- Manage contracts, budgets, and communication for public art projects and partnerships
- Collaborate with stakeholders and project managers to ensure project completion within timelines and budgets
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate degree or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of experience in planning and implementing public art projects or programs
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license with the ability to obtain a North Carolina license within 60 days of hire
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences
- Proficiency in MS Office products and Google platforms, as well as Adobe Photoshop
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Visual Art, Art Administration, or related field
- Experience in project management and working with artists or cultural organizations
- Familiarity with the Durham area arts community
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, social media, and video conferencing tools
