      Position Highlights Please note: This posting has been updated in its number of vacancies from 2 to 3. Facilities Management Custodial Operations is seeking a goal-oriented, cleaning professional for the position of Custodial Area Supervisor. We are looking to fill two positions. In this position, you will supervise and coach a crew of custodians striving to be the BEST in the nation through excellent quality cleaning, while maintaining a safe and accident-free environment.

      Note: Custodial Area Supervisors are required to drive University vehicles as part of their daily routine.

      Duties & Responsibilities
      • Directs the work of custodians performing cleaning tasks.
      • Schedules work to meet normal requirements without interfering with building occupants or students.
      • Assists in supervising all inter-collegiate athletic sports and campus events.
      • Inspects buildings, rooms, storage space, halls, fixtures, and custodial equipment to observe the results of the work performed.
      • Drives a University vehicle on a daily basis across campus to inspect work done in various buildings, deliver supplies to buildings, and transport Custodians.
      • Requests appropriate material, equipment, and supplies while operating within the established budget.
      • Recommends budget, materials, and equipment for assigned areas.
      • Prepares and submits appropriate reports, memoranda, including performance and disciplinary according to University policies and procedures.
      • Coaches custodians to improve their job knowledge; provides high quality cleaning services, and encourages career development.
      • Trains Custodians and temporary work staff on proper operation of equipment.

      Minimum Qualifications
      • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
      • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required.
      • Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy .
      Preferred Qualifications
      • 2 years custodial supervisory experience.
      • 4 years management experience.
      • Budgeting process experience.
      • University setting experience.
      • CESE Certified Environmental Services Executive or RESE Registered Environmental Services Executive.
