      What We Do:

      OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed through the criminal justice system.

      Salary Information:

      • $17.20 hour with the first increase in 120 days to $17.56 per hour
      • Annual step increases each year with an additional longevity supplement after 5 years of service
      • Custodial Workers can receive up to a 3% increase every July 1st per the current OCSEA bargaining unit contract.

      What You'll Do:

      Maintains a clean environment in which employees may work & patients may live: clean & maintain on an on-going basis patient living facilities on an assigned unit (e.g., restrooms, showers, bathing rooms, bedrooms, dayroom, back hallway, offices, nourishment station, medication room, exam room, nurses station, clean & soiled linen rooms, timeout room, employee break room, dock & outside grounds of unit..) or assigned public areas, offices, & halls adjacent to units (e.g., offices, copy/mail rooms, waiting rooms, lobby, hallways, windows, patios, dining room, restrooms, showers, game room, fitness room, Medical Clinic, Dental Clinic, Pharmacy, Plant Services, Storeroom, patient grounds outside of dining area, Commissary, Treatment Mall, gym, public/employee restrooms, conference rooms, MOD room & auditorium within Summit Behavioral Healthcare (SBH) by completing daily housekeeping check list for assigned area (i.e., Patient Unit; Building 10; Public Area 3, including backup assignments); cleans floors (e.g., sweep, mop..), mop spills; dust, wipe down, &/or wash furniture, walls, ceilings, doors, window blinds, windows & sills, ceiling/wall air ducts, & light fixtures; vacuum & shampoo carpets; clean & sanitize toilets, clean water fountains, clean & sanitize bath & shower rooms (e.g., scrub sinks, counter tops, fixtures, tubs, shower & toilet stalls, polish mirrors, fill soap, hand sanitizer, towel & toilet paper dispensers, hang new &/or replace shower curtains, use plunger to unstop minor clogs in toilets..), empty trash/garbage cans & remove refuse to dumpster, clean break room refrigerators throwing out expired food items, clean MOD room (e.g., change bed linen & send soiled linen for cleaning, clean bath/shower room & toilet, dust furniture, vacuum, sweep/mop floor..); clean aviary & feed birds; empty outside litter baskets, pick up litter from grounds, patios, & Boy-in Boot garden area; sets up & takes down tables & chairs for meetings, conferences & special events, clean white boards in all assigned areas.

      Performs miscellaneous related housekeeping tasks: move furniture, stock housekeeping supply closets, report broken housekeeping equipment (e.g. buffer, vacuum, floor dryer..), maintain housekeeping equipment in clean working condition (change sweeper bags/filters/belts, mop heads, buffer pads..), address unforeseen housekeeping problems on units & throughout facility, fill in for absent custodial workers as assigned. Performs miscellaneous related duties (e.g. removes snow & ice from sidewalks).
