      Description

      The responsibilities of the Customer Care Pharmacist for Commercial include taking prescriptions from licensed prescribers on the Blue Rabbit platform, providing prescriber counsel, providing verbal patient counseling over the phone, and ensuring the accuracy of prescription orders processed by Customer Care Specialists. The job responsibilities will be performed in accordance with all relevant state and federal regulations. The pharmacist accomplishes these tasks through extensive contact with Blue Rabbit customers, and through working together with shared Blue Rabbit & Wedgewood management team and all other staff in fulfilling his/her responsibilities and duties. This customer care pharmacist majorly focuses on delivering customer service to Blue Rabbit platform customers.

      When will you work?

      The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm EST.

      What you’ll do:

      • Receive inbound and facilitate outbound phone calls from commercial customers and service their needs effectively and efficiently with the utmost focus on patient safety and customer satisfaction.
      • Receive new prescriptions from veterinarians and physicians through multiple contact channels including phone calls, faxes and electronic transmissions.
      • Ensure the accuracy, completeness and legibility of all information documented within each prescription and patient record.
      • Use clinical knowledge and professional judgement to perform a drug utilization review of each prescription in order to authorize the filling of prescriptions for patients.
      • Communicate directly with patients, prescribers, and other health care providers in order to provide patient counseling and optimize medication therapeutic outcomes.
      • Respond to customer (internal and external) requests for technical/clinical information
      • Collect and document accurate and complete information related to reports of adverse drug reactions in order to effectively manage customer expectations and facilitate quality event investigations
      • Work collaboratively with other pharmacists and pharmacy staff to complete the intake and approval of prescriptions.
      • Adhere to compliance and HIPPA regulations as well as Wedgewood security policies.
      • Ensure that the customer is completely satisfied with Wedgewood’s products and services.
      • Consistently meet yet strive to exceed performance standards set by department.
      • Follow all Wedgewood’s policies and procedures and recommend any improvements.
      • Any suggested additions or improvements to existing quality systems or procedures will be submitted in writing to the appropriate manager.
      • Contribute ideas and recommendations for improvements to the department and company including identifying market opportunities, through conversations with customers and sales personnel and professional literature searched in order to identify demand for additional products.
      • Quickly understand and analyze customer needs to solve and document customer problems in accordance with pharmacy regulations and Wedgewood policies and procedures.
      • Listen actively and establish rapport with internal and external customers.
      • Take ownership of any prescription prioritization and/or continued customer communication necessary to ensure the Company meets or exceeds customer expectations.
      • Provide accurate, factual, and clinically appropriate information about Wedgewood’s preparations and services to internal and external customers.

      • Strong PC and internet skills.
      • Very good organization and work prioritization skills.

      What you’ve done:

      • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (Pharm. D.)
      • You are a current pharmacist licensed in multiple states or at a minimum, the state of New Jersey where prescriptions are dispensed.
      • 1-3 years of pharmacy experience
