Primary Responsibilities:

- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues related to benefits, eligibility, claims, and financial spending accounts
- Educate customers on consumer-driven health care and guide them in selecting the best benefit plan options and maximizing their health plan benefits
- Assist customers in navigating company websites and becoming self-sufficient in using online tools
- Contact care providers on behalf of customers to assist with appointment scheduling or connecting with internal specialists
- Research complex issues and provide accurate information to customers about their health, status, and plan options

Required Qualifications:

- High School Diploma / GED (or higher) OR Equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2+ years of combined education, work, and/or volunteer experience
- Ability to work full-time, Monday - Friday between 8:00am – 4:30pm EST, with occasional overtime

Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with medical terminology, health plan documents, or benefit plan design in a health care/insurance environment
- Experience working with vulnerable populations in social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, or health promotion
- Sales or account management experience

Telecommuting Requirements:

- Reside within the state of New York
- Have a dedicated work area that ensures information privacy
- Keep all company sensitive documents secure
- Have access to a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection

Additional Information:

- New York Residents Only: Salary range is $16.00 - $27.31 based on factors such as education and work experience
