Job Description

- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience required; 3 with a Master’s. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Requires on of the following certifications of the ability to obtain before start date:
- CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP, Security + CE, CySA+, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev
- Active U.S. Passport and the ability to travel up to two weeks at a time, both foreign and domestically (up to 10%).
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance.
- Promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are reflected in organizations’ visions and goals.
- Research security threat vectors and participate in government and industry conferences and training that impact existing standards and/or principles and provide information to customer on potential impact.
- Create bulletins, alerts, and/or advisories related to published or developmental standards and/or security principal documents.
- Ensure that rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices are implemented in the delivery of all IT services.
- Evaluate a wide array of existing, new, modified, and/or emerging technologies and develop recommended security configuration baselines documents that implement departmental policy, technical security solutions, and industry best practices in alignment with Defense information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) as much as possible.
- Actively participate in respective change review and control boards, providing written and verbal recommendations.
- Respond to various technical and policy questions from a wide range to customers/users with guidance and clarification.
- Promote awareness of cybersecurity standards and principles among the customer stakeholders, co-workers, and the Department users.
- Collaborate with fellow team members and various internal and external stakeholders to share information and knowledge to establish and maintain a productive line of communication.
- Streamline processes to improve efficiency of Mission goals.
- Manage information and updates in SharePoint repositories.
- Keep awareness of items involving fellow team members to provide backup support and coverage as needed.
- Travel to foreign and domestic locations; 10%.
Basic Requirements:
Peraton is seeking to hire a Cybersecurity Engineer to become a part of our Security Standards & Baselines section within the TIE office and team.
Location: Rosslyn, VA. Flexible for occasional telework – must be local to work location.
In this role, you will become part of Peraton's Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective, and secure business processes. Peraton's DSCM program encompasses technical, engineering, data analytics, cybersecurity, management, operational, logistical, and administrative support to aid and advise DoS Cyber & Technology Security (CTS) Directorate.
