      Position Requirements:

      • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required
      • Five years’ experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
      • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
      • Five years of additional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree requirement
      • DOD 8570 IAT certification is required is prior to starting (preferably Security+)

      Desired Qualifications:

      • UNIX/Linux system administration experience (Linux, Solaris), understanding of fundamental networking and distributed computing environment concepts, performance tuning and capacity planning of servers (hardware and software levels), ability to write simple Perl/Shell scripts, and knowledge of Oracle (including installation and setup)
      • Programming skills in Perl or Bourne
      • Knowledge of how C/C++, DBMS and Perl work together
      • Security+ (can fullfill DOD 8570 cert requirement) and Redhat certifications
      • Knowledge of installing, configuring, and utilizing SaltStack automation framework

Peraton is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to be part of our Cyber Intelligence team in Laurel, MD.       What You'll Do:

      As a Systems Administrator, you will be a key player in supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT systems that are crucial to our client’s success. You'll be responsible for managing and optimizing IT system infrastructure and ensuring the seamless operation of systems including client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.

      Your role will include:

      • Providing both Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support to swiftly diagnose, resolve issues, and offer solutions to end-users.

      • Keeping systems running smoothly through proactive monitoring and rapid problem resolution.

      • Collaborating with internal teams and agency management to ensure smooth communication and status updates for ongoing issues.

      • Managing and configuring UNIX and Windows operating systems, applying necessary updates, and ensuring reliability and performance enhancements.
