What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct data mining, preparation, and reporting to support client needs
- Prepare and perform analyses, assessments, and recommendations based on data findings
- Document and summarize results, developing solutions to client challenges
- Support data science projects as a key team member, assisting data scientists and consultants
- Implement data models and provide database support for customer solutions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in applied research, big data analytics, or a similar quantitative discipline, with at least two (2) years in applied data science research
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a closely related field; Master's degree may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau, and PowerBI
- Knowledge of data mining methods and experience with analytic techniques like anomaly detection and time-series analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Expertise with Qlik and experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and geospatial analytics
- Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, or other parallel storage/computing processes
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP) concepts and techniques
