      Requirements

      Data and Research Associate, Georgetown University Initiative on Innovation, Development and Evaluation (gui2de) - McCourt School of Public Policy - Georgetown University

      The Georgetown University Initiative on Innovation, Development and Evaluations (gui2de) conducts empirical field-based research to assess the impact and effectiveness of interventions and policies aimed at empowering individuals in developing countries to improve their lives. Major research themes include governance and accountability, the promotion of agency in the delivery of health, education, and other public services, the role of mobile technology in development, and financial development and integration.

      Job Overview

      The Data and Research Associate at gui2de works closely with Professor Jishnu Das, at the McCourt School of Public Policy and the School of Foreign Service, as well as with gui2de’s WWH Director of Research, Beatrice Leydier.

      The DRA has two core responsibilities:

      (A) Work with Jishnu Das on quality of healthcare using novel data from around the world, and multiple datasets from India; and

      (B) work with Jishnu Das and Beatrice Leydier on education and education markets in Pakistan using data collected under the LEAPS program.

      As assigned, they may provide support on IRB applications and new data collection in the field.

      Duties include but are not limited to:

      • Data cleaning of datasets already collected
      • Data analysis
      • Management of datasets and code for analysis
      • Production of graphs and materials for presentations
      • Production of replicable coding “do” files for publication
      • Assistance with funding and IRB applications
      • Perform basic roles as a teaching assistant - for example, assist with grading problem sets and hold office hours for students regarding coding tasks

      Work Interactions and Work Mode

      Reporting to the Principal Investigators and the WWH Director of Research, the Data and Research Associate supervises several student Research Assistants.

      This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.       Requirements and Qualification

      Master’s degree with significant coursework on empirical methods and data analysis

      Preferred Qualification

      Experience with STATA, LaTEX and GitHub

      The expected pay range for this position is between $41,926.00 and $70,000.00 per year.
