What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Accurately enter and update patient billing information, treatment codes, and insurance details into data systems
- Oversee the efficient flow of data through internal pipelines and applications
- Review and verify data for completeness and compliance with established procedures
- Collaborate with the data entry specialist team to resolve discrepancies in billing records
- Conduct regular audits of billing records to identify and correct errors
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Finance, or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a data entry specialist, preferably in the healthcare sector
- Proficient in data entry with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with medical terminology and billing procedures preferred
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and experience with electronic health records (EHR)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with medical billing codes (ICD-10, CPT, etc.) and formats (UB-04, CMS1500, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues
