  Big Data Engineer - VP

  As a Barclays Big Data Engineer you will architect and store the data into the Cloud. The role requires understanding various data sets used in Trading/Analytics and implementing a cost-effective solution to store and retrieve the data. The role requires deeper understanding of the data, the frameworks to process the data and maintaining the quality of the data. The role is pivotal to provide the most confident data to the users.

  	What will you be doing?
  	Build modern ETL frameworks to extract, load, process and store the data.
  	Architect cost-effective and secure solution to store the data in the Cloud.
  	Solutions to process the data with performance optimization and time improvements.
  	Continuous improvements to reliability, quality and efficiency of the data.
  	User programmatic language and tools to align the architecture of the data to the business needs.
  	What we’re looking for:
  4-year Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering degree
  Hands on experience architecting and implementing the solutions in Amazon AWS Cloud
  Hands on Experience with Big Data Technologies (SPARK and Hadoop)
  Experience working with security and confidentiality requirements for the data
  	Skills that will help you in the role:
  	Hands on working on core competencies, latest frameworks, End to end delivery experience Experience working with Python/Anaconda Detail oriented and proven ability to understand business requirements and transform into fully functional technical solution
  	Where will you be working?
  	You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
